Well, what else can be expected from a Puertorican Hitler and a liar? Nothing not to be believed coming from the governor of Puerto Rico. He has a list of 30,000 to be fired in october 2009. He used the strategy to include people from his political party and said that the firing was a blind and randomly process. We were waiting for this: not only he has moved people on the list that are part of his political party to other locations and to his staff political positions to prevent they do not get fired but also, he has increased their salary.

This are the three companies the goverment is paying very high amounts of money to re structure the goverment like a private business while the Public Workers were fired. these three companies has collected their Public workers salaries and more. They are the ones designing to eliminate and get rid of middle class, middle low class, working class and low class:

3. Orlando Mercado, presidente de Innova Management Solutions, Inc.

They are the ones that tell the one that apply for a job that they are too old for the jobs availables, they are under or over qualify, they had a different experience. But they are the ones that hired for the governor's staff people without a degree or experience on Public Service to work for the government.

Do not believe one thing the governor says. he is going to fired 17,000 more before the ende of the year 2009. In the mean time he told the ones that were fired that what he gave them, 2,500.00 to start studying or to create a new business, they can use it buy their christmas gifts for their families. Isn't he a joker? Helloooo 2,500 is not enough to pay debts to begin with. And by any chance, does he want people to spent what they have left is his political investor's stores?

Governor hides methods if any to fire 25 thounsand employees.

He does not answer to Senate and Congress petition to disclose method, studies, statistic that prove he needed to fire 25 thousand people and live 24 thousand families on the street.

He only has one answer for the public: "The other option is to close the goverment". We keep asking him under what calculation, studies, research, etc. and he does not show, answer or give any explanations.

Another thing, no one is allow to see at the State Department the new companies that has being registered since he started his job. New companies that will take the public workers jobs he eliminated. Offer he did to the private sector on the back of the citizens before winning his election.There is proof of that at the Accountants Association. Something he did not disclosed to the citizens.

He only appears at the press under his instructions. No one can ask him any more of what he established to be asked for.

This is a very easy ecuation. Governor took public workers jobs and gave them to his friends and investors. They are creating the businesses at the Estate Dept to privatize all counties and towns municipalities. Jobs openning are already available but not to the fired people. So, the private sector cried because they were not doing well and the governor decided to sell them the public sector for them to get some income. How creative. They saw the only market available to take over -the government- And the governor has the guts to ask the Fired Public Workers to be creative ... against all the odds: no money, no nothing but be creative. On the other hand, dismantled the Public Service without a need. It was all an excuse to sell to his firends wellbeing and at the same time get a piece of the gains as an investor. He sold the wellbeing of thousands of families to corporations that were in debts. He took the middle class money and gave it to the high class for them not to suffer. High class that never learn to suffer before. The governor use the people that voted for him to live them on their streets without nothing on purpose, to take from them the only thing they have: a secure job, a daily meal, medical insurance, a child in school, transportation, security.

The governor has helped enough the private sector behind the scenes. The governor signed Law 93 which it makes the Private Sector exempt from paying their debts to the Government Tax Collector Office (Departamento de Hacienda). The Secretary of that office has the power to choose who will pay and who he will wave out of their debt. If you are a corporation and you do not support the governor, YOU HAVE TO PAY YOUR DEBT.

But on other hand, the governor used our people and their jobs to pay the Private Sector's debt leaving us without jobs, homes, food, transportation, our children schools and education, our families health insurance, to avoid his friends suffering a little bit with a little bit less income.

-Is going to take actions against manifestations on October 15 for the National Strike.

-Closed the congress doors not alllowing public to be an audience an listening how are they planning to keep destroying the public service.

All firemen from natural resources dept. were fired. Trained forestal staff were fired. There is a plague on cactus on the south of the island that has to be taken care and the governor doesn't care. He wants to increase and develop the wild monos "factory" to sell them. A project Benicio del Toro is trying to stop or it will get all international support to stop it. All this with fed funds.

Governor's police force pushed away elderly from their walking tracks to arrive in his helicopter. The mayor of that town said they were there to obstaculize the presentation. That's a lie. It was abusive behavior from governor's staff.

Governor's office of taxes collection said that fired people won't affect the money collection because fired people has money left for thanksgiving and christmas. Therefore, it won't be until 2010 that they will see any effects. -Meaning they want the fired people to spend the only money they have left to help the government, instead all the way around.

Governor fired 16,970 last friday, well yesterday he offered to those he fired 16,000 new jobs to pick up coffee in a town in the south of the island. So he switch (for votes) mm of dollars of Public Workers employees (which he fired) to give that money to the Yauco town mayor to offer 16, 000 jobs picking up coffee. This is not feasable becacuse the tools and transportation is not available. Which it means the governor is giving money to that town for the use of the mayor but not for the real purposes.

Now the governor travels on a three hour distance side to side island on helicopter. Helicopter use cost $$$$$ daily.

Governor moves jails rehabilitation people to applause on his presentations. More $$$$ spent for his ego.

Governor said he was not going to fired anybody from police dept. Well, yes he did.

Puerto Rico - No one understand why the governor does not collect the 720mm the private sector owes the government or charge taxes on american dollar that lives the country with no return, and instead fired on past Friday 20 thousand people. No only that the letters of people unemployed are more than the ones mentioned. There are other letters that included a period for people to be unemployed on 60 days ahead and 90 days ahead totaling 60 thousand people to be unemployed.

The governor complaints that the government has a debt of 800mm but instead doing the right job, citizens are hit with his bad administration leaving them unemployed. We are not talking about 60 thousand individuals, we are talking about 60 thousand families that are left with no health insurance, education, rent payments, car payments, food, clothing, books -for the entire family.

Private sector has not received the Criolle contribution incentive Obama sent on march 2009. Where is that money the government is keeping from the beneficiary? Private sector has eliminated thousands of positions. Is that how the governor is counting that the private sector pick up the unemployment? Something that is absolutely impossible. Never mind that people older than 35 yrs old are not prospect for employment in any employment agency or private industry in Puerto Rico.

Another great idea the governor mentioned was to throw people on the street so they can develop creativity and produce to be able to export merchandise. Is he really the governor? US laws does not permit Puerto Rico to export anything. Besides, our government does not lend money to unemployed puertorican people -only to foreign people with cash as a collateral.

The agencies the government has dismantled, all function with fed funds. A secured job that is not going to exist anymore. Is the governor planning to use those funds on something else or is he going to have the guts to return those fed funds?

Meantime, government executives are just enjoying of a salary around 150k to 250k with no pressure. Congressman make 250k all included and are arguing about who's fault it is after they signed the law #7 to unemployed all those people. Congressmen has a cafeteria with three meals all included for $6.00 avg. a meal. If an unemployed person wants to eat outside it will cost minimum $7.95 for a sandwich and a coke never mind dessert or potato ships to go with it. By all means the balance is totally with the weight on one side only.

Why the heck the government does not low the high salaries the execs are collecting? The government dismantled the cultural government agencies leaving without protection all valuables objects and patrimonies. More so, the governor announced that the fed funds given to special agencies like the Office of the Attorney for the Elderly, which he dismantled as well, he will use them for other positions. Which ones? The executive’s positions?

Hey! Don't forget to ask our governor why did he spent millions of dollars going to the US Congress to defend the status project a few months ago when he knew there was a government deficit and that he was going to fired thousands of people.

Is our governor aware that the private sector has a rule that no one with bad credit could be employed? Well, all the people he has fired and that will fired on November 6, 2009 and in January 6, 2009 will have bad credit in a blink of an eye, because those people lived on a paycheck basis.

Who does the governor really cares about? When he went to the US Congress and said that he was against Obama's health reform living us without the only opportunity for health insurance and when he was planning to fired 60 thousand people that will not have any health insurance.

Where is the governor? Out of the island of course. He can't face what he has done in person.

DEUDAS Y DESEMPLEO A LOS 45 AñOS DE EDAD O ANTES

En este caso vamos a referirnos a la generación que entra al rango de edad de 45 y 65 años. Si nos fijamos, hoy día no sólo es sumamente difícil conseguir un trabajo compatible con nuestros estudios, si no que nuestra edad influye en las razones para ser empleado.

La globalización ha traido consigo grandes cambios. Uno de los cambios que nadie menciona o le presta atención es el por qué la generación entre 45 y 65 años de edad tiene tantas deudas y no las pueden pagar. Empecemos por preguntar por qué esa generación tiene tanta deuda.

Básicamente, par de razones pueden dar pie a tan grande problema. Por un lado, los préstamos estudiantiles, los matrimonios o hijos sin casarse a temprana edad y no poder obtener empleo una vez desempleado. Preguntemos porqué no han podido pagar sus deudas. Un sólo trabajo no es suficiente para pagar los préstamos estudiantiles, los gastos de un matrimonio y/o los gastos de una familia y préstamos adicionales para sufragar los gastos. A eso le sumamos el desempleo por razones de cierre, económicos, sube el mínimo federal, política, y el tiempo que se está desempleado.

¿Por qué no consigue un trabajo? Hoy día la edad es un factor con demasiado peso a la hora de escoger personal para áreas de trabajo que le puedan ayudar a un profesional que está desempleado. Sabemos que la economía de este país no provee para una posición de trabajo perfecta por los estudios y experiencia adquirida.

Otra razón, es que la globalización ha puesto como prioridad el consumismo. Esto ha hecho que la mayoría de los trabajos que dependían de otro tipo de conocimiento requerido se hayan eliminado. El consumismo ha desarrollado muchas vacantes de trabajo de un sólo tipo para una sola edad. El telemercadeo es la posición más disponible en los clasificados de empleos y en las agencias de empleos.

Esto no quiere decir que hay ofertas de trabajos para todo el mundo. El telemercadeo exige unas características que sólo los jóvenes sin experiencia pueden tener. Por ejemplo, que no sepan los derechos a beneficios que un empleado debe tener, que no se querellen si les dan Lay-off a mitad de proyecto, que no reciban plan médico, que no cuenten con horas de descanso requeridas por el Depto. del Trabajo, que repitan un libreto aunque estés mintiendo al consumidor, que violen los derechos de los clientes al ser intervenidos en horas de trabajo y un sin número de veces, que no estén comprometidos con asuntos de familia y otros.

Al final de cuentas la persona termina endeudada por todas partes, sin poder empezar su propio negocio por no tener dinero y estar endeudado, sin poder conseguir trabajo por estar endeudado, ya que los requisitos ahora exigen que para emplearse no puede estar endeudado. Sin oportunidades de trabajo a su nivel por que esas plazas han sido eliminadas. Sin poder cualificar para trabajos temporeros ni permanentes que tengan que ver con mercadeo por la edad y la experiencia. Sin poder cualificar para otras oportunidades por el tiempo que ha estado sin trabajar en el campo. A la hora de la verdad, las plazas se han eliminado por dos razones: todo se hace por computadoras y teléfono (telemercadeo) y los dineros disponibles se usan para las alzas de salarios de los ejecutivos de empresas y los legisladores del gobierno. El resto de los habitantes que se vayan a otro país o mueran endeudados.

A todos los países le está sucediendo lo mismo. Todos hacen sus estudios y estadísticas relacionadas con este menester. Algunos llevan la delantera buscando la solución a este problema. En Puerto Rico no les preocupa ni cómo se va a mantener la próxima generación cuando el consumismo caiga con la era.

Ecological Economics: Principles And Applications (Island Press, 2003) by Joshua Farley and Herman E. Daly.

An introductory-level textbook that reconceptualizes economics with new axioms that address the flaws of neoclassical economics. The textbook, used by nearly 20,000 undergraduates in 2007, proposes a new paradigm that reflects the value of clean air and water, species diversity, and social and generational equity. At the forefront of economics, major changes are happening. And many of them are changes for the better. The old economics view of the world, in which everyone acts purely in his or her own self-interest, in which free markets are the solution to almost everything, has been abandoned.

The list of economics Nobel laureates in the twenty-first century reflects these changes. It is largely made up of scholars who have worked outside the traditional Rational Economic Person, free market paradigm. The work of Daniel Kahneman and Vernon Smith deserves special mention even in this distinguished list. They created almost single-handedly the burgeoning discipline of experimental economics. Standard economics merely assumes that people act in a particular way. Kahneman and Smith actually tested how people really do behave. Many of the assumptions economists make turn out to be wrong in important ways.

But there is a problem, and a very big one at that. Most economists continue to try to shape public policy as if very little has changed and that the old view of the world remains generally valid. Got a problem with inflation? Just fix the money supply. Want to develop out of poverty? Just privatize all industries and pull down trade barriers. These answers are routinely trotted out regardless of the evidence. And the evidence is often starkly different from the theory. Look at trade: with the sole exception of the first country to industrialize, Britain, no country has developed successfully without protecting domestic industries from foreign predation.

The problem stems from the way economics is taught. For many of the very best students, a course in economics has become almost indistinguishable from a course in the math department, wholly abstracted from reality. A friend of mine has a world-wide reputation in physics. A few years ago, he got interested in economics and looked at some of the advanced textbooks and journals. I warned him. He was still appalled. The proliferation of math, with “theorems” and “lemmas” on almost every page, totally astonished him. “But I haven’t had to prove a theorem for at least 20 years. Physics is judged on how well your theory explains the real world, not on whether you can do clever math – all of us can,” he fumed.

Most students are fed not on esoteric math but on the standard textbooks. But these have, if anything, gone backwards in recent years. Aimed at the mass market of US community college students, they have dumbed down the subject to a terrifying degree.

I have in front of me the 1967 edition of Richard Lipsey’s Introduction to Positive Economics. This, along with Paul Samuelson’s textbook, was the best seller for many years. It is not aimed at geniuses, just ordinary, regular students, “designed to be read as a first book in economics.” Of its 861 pages, only 32 contain any math, and even that is of the simplest possible kind.

Yet it is full to bursting with really interesting examples of real world behavior. Yes, here is the basic model showing how in a free market, price can adjust to bring supply and demand into balance. But here, too, is an immediate counter-example, of great practical importance, discussed at length. Indeed, it has its own separate chapter. What happens if supply can’t be increased quickly, if it takes time to respond to price changes? This is true, for example for most agricultural markets – trees take time to grow, even chickens need five months before they can start to lay eggs.

Lipsey shows, simply and clearly, using only diagrams, how the free market might work very badly in this case. His chapter summary, printed in bold, states: “in the unstable case, the operation of the competitive price system itself does not tend to remove any disequilibrium; it tends rather to accentuate it.” Careful, practical study is needed on a case-by-case basis to see if a free market is likely to lead to stable or unstable behavior. The crude policy advice that markets always work is simply not given house room, even in a textbook for the ordinary first year student.

So why are the textbooks not being re-written, not just to bring back the insights of the word-rich, math-poor texts of the 1960s, but to incorporate the real advances which have been made in economics in recent decades? Until I was drawn into the textbook world, this puzzled me.

A couple of years ago, I was approached by someone from a leading academic publisher. He was, he explained, their very top man across the whole of the sciences. His remit included economics. This sounded interesting. What did he have in mind?
What the commissioning editor had in mind was very exciting. He wanted an entirely new textbook, to incorporate the really interesting advances in the subject over the past 20 years or so.

The editor, who already had a best-selling economics textbook of the standard kind in his stable, understood that at some point in the future all existing textbooks will be redundant. The new generation of textbooks will contain the economics of the twenty-first century, not that of the twentieth (or even the nineteenth!) which the present ones do. He was anxious that one of his rivals would get there before him, and bring out an innovative textbook which would scoop the pool and be hard to dislodge from its number one slot. So he realized that his company would have to innovate and bring out a completely new textbook. Was I interested? It sounded like a dream. But like most dreams, it was too good to be true.

The editor faced a dilemma, which he articulated clearly. His problem was that the market – in this case the market for textbooks – is already occupied by the incumbents. They might ignore almost all that has gone on in economics in the past 20 years, they might be guilty of dumbing down, but they are there. And their publishers and authors use every trick to make it stay that way. For example, top textbooks routinely have over 10,000 multiple choice questions helpfully provided on a web-linked site. Teachers don’t even have to think about making up the questions, they are all provided.

So we have a situation in which products with inferior qualities – containing lots of old-fashioned economics – are preventing products which are superior from entering the market. The barriers to entry which they have erected are very hard to breach. In simple economics, this shouldn’t happen. Consumers are supposed to have perfect information, so they should choose the new rather than the old. But the real world just doesn’t work like this. Most students are now never told this, and they never get to choose – except by voting with their feet and dropping economics altogether.

And this was exactly the editor’s dilemma. He knew that at some point the market will look completely different, that the new will eventually oust the old. But he had no way of knowing when this would be. In the meantime, any single attempt to enter the market with a new-style economics text would be likely to fail, unable to break the lock on the market which the current textbooks have.

We corresponded on this and talked. Eventually, the editor said he would go ahead on the basis that no more than ten percent of the total material could be the new economics, the other 90 percent would be the old. But I just couldn’t do it, I couldn’t be part of disseminating a wrong-headed view of the world which leads to so much bad policy advice. I didn’t blame the man. He was thoughtful and anxious to do good, but faced commercial imperatives. So the textbook of twenty-first century economics is still waiting to be written.

Se pensó por un momento que un mundo virtual era muy "techie" para un lego, un regular, un adulto, uno que tuviera entre 60 y 80 años, o para un discapacitado.

No tenemos más piel para la política

Recientemente en un programa radial de Los Angeles, California, un radioescucha que hacía su llamada telefónica desde Canadá a un Radio Talk Show, su preocupación: ¿qué va a pasar si seguimos como vamos avanzando en tanta calamidad a nivel global? ¿Qué va a pasar para el 2012?

¿Alguien sabe de la profecía del 2012? A eso se refería el radioescucha.
¿Queda algo más en qué creer para los radioescuchas? ¿A qué se debe ese temor?
Ahora los conductores de Radio son los que predicen el futuro. ¿Se han dado cuenta de eso? Esperemos que hagan un buen trabajo.

PRENSA AMARILLA

Hoy el editorial del periódico de El Nuevo Día titulado "Ellos alimentan el desprecio público" http://www.elnuevodia.com/diario/columna/311500, nos habla de lo que abonan otros seres humanos que trabajan para el pueblo de Puerto Rico, en este caso los legisladores, al darle paso a una medida para aumentarse el salario automáticamente cada cuatro años.

"La renuencia de la mayoría parlamentaria cameral a darle paso a una medida que congelaría el aumento salarial automático a los legisladores a partir del próximo cuatrienio, sólo abona a la desaprobación pública a su gestión y revela la bochornosa ventajería que constantemente desahucia a la prudencia de los recintos del Capitolio". Otra vez los intocables, los dueños de los medios, a los que no se les puede sugerir nada, a los que no se les puede comunicar cuanta insatisfacción hay con la manera en que manejan la información, de los que nos exigen se les de libertad de expresión, hoy y siempre juegan con nuestras mentes.

Un día, estos mismos medios de comunicación, nos señalan cómo ser parte de la Responsabilidad Social, cómo educar la población y las comunidades. Otro día nos invaden con los mismos letreros que días atrás hacían noticia, criticando el efecto que estos tienen visualmente en el ambiente y si económicamente son efectivos. En fin, una crítica es una crítica, quién la hace negativa o positiva es el receptor.

Cuando se manipula la palabra y su intención, el efecto no es de crítica si no de afirmación, aseveración o acusación. Como dicen ultimamente por ahí, el pueblo juzgará y tomará sus propias decisiones.

Hace unos días hubo una invasión de letreros en la Avenida Roosevelt en Hato Rey cerca de la Avenida Muñoz Rivera. (Ver foto arriba). Estos letreros promueven varias cosas. Antes que nada, verifique si alguna de las siguientes opciones es la intención de la empresa del medio de comunicación, al poner estos letreros en medio de las avenidas e intersecciones de tránsito vehicular y peatonal:

___ Punto de venta

___ Invasión de anuncios en la carretera

___ Distracción visual en la carretera

___ Obstrucción visual en las intersecciones de tráfico vehicular y peatonal

___ Hacemos letreros, haga el suyo para su candidato político favorito

Este reportaje al igual que el de Soy Francotiradora, denuncia una realidad. Uno contrario al otro, se coloca en espacio diferente en el mismo periódico. Soy Francotiradora ocupó la primera plana de la edición dominical y El ejemplo de Medellín las páginas interiores de la sección de Negocios incluyendo una guía de Principios para una ciudadanía responsable. Lamentablemente algunas de las empresas que manejan los medios de comunicación no se sienten aludidas por estos principios, o es que no hay guías de principios para los medios de comunicación y para todos los demás sí las hay. 'La vida es responsabilidad de todos'.

Economía Versus Democracia

Cuando no hay una economía saludable no existe la democracia. Cuando no existe la democracia se propaga la corrupción.
La corrupción le absorbe una enorme cuota a la pobreza.
La pobreza es castigada por la corrupción.
Cuando la economía nacional está en peligro, hay que trabajar a los niveles de las comunidades, tomar iniciativas locales, desarrollarlas y capacitar a los participantes.

¿A quién le están editorializando el porvenir?

Las propuestas que hacen algunos grupos para reinventar la educación y la economía del país, son válidas. A su vez, deja ver la poca exposición que estos grupos han tenido a todos los elementos que constituyen una buena formación educativa. No sólo eso, pero tampoco han sido expuestos a todas las nuevas herramientas y disciplinas que contribuyen a disfrutar la educación hoy día.

Las quejas de los educadores promueven los servicios médicos para niños y jóvenes equívocos, llamándoles hiperactivos o con Attention Deficit Disorders. ¿Acaso no fuimos iguales de hiperactivos cuando nosotros eramos niños? Claro, no sólo teníamos a Mamá, Tía, Abuela, sino que también jugabamos todos juntos y no teníamos tanta energía -electrónica- corriéndonos por las venas. Sería más efectivo actualizar la metodogía y logística para enseñar, en vez de ocasionar tanta manifestación y regulación departe de los educadores y patronos.

El mero hecho de que un niño, joven o adulto sepa manejar un equipo técnico, electrónico, computarizado y con lenguajes de programación avanzada para juegos o materias educativas digital versus un educador que no tenga ningún conocimiento sobre esos lenguajes y equipos, crea una barrera que cambia las reglas de juego entre un educador y un estudiante. Uno de los dos va a salir intimidado sino se ha estudiado la manera de manejar esas nuevas situaciones.

PROTAGONISMO A CUALQUIER COSTO. Animales o humanos, muerto vivos, vivos muertos. ¿Quiénes son los protagonistas de esta serie? Será Puerto Rico, los animales, los que mataron a los animales, los Alcaldes de los pueblos que delegaron una gesta sin inspeccionarla o monitorearla, los municipios que generan sus propias leyes y reglamentos, el Departamento de Vivienda ignorando el diario vivir en sus residencias, los residentes a quienes les quitaron sus mascotas bajo una ley falsa siendo engañados, el nombre de la compañía que ejecutó la acción contra los animales, los periodistas que llevan el mensaje de la insólita noticia alrededor del mundo, los blogs, los que escriben en los blogs, las culturas de los bloggers (http://ccdoc.iteso.mx//cat.aspx?cmn=browse&id=4024) o la pena?

Hace un tiempo atrás en la TV había una campaña contra los que maltrataban a los animales, decía algo como que había que estar pendiente del que maltrataba a los animales desde niño o joven pues era indicativo de que en la adultez maltrataría también a los seres humanos. Esto no se puede mirar con los ojos del consumismo, de la seudo ciencia, seudo psicología, seudo economía, y olvidemos la política, “el deporte nacional del país” (no es que la política sea un deporte malo, es cómo se juega. Si jugamos baloncesto y no dejamos que el otro enceste, metiéndole un cuchillazo para que falle su tiro, sea bueno o malo…)

Esto es Roma Burning Again. Esto es un comportamiento que ha ido evolucionando producto de, efecto de lo que tú quieras escoger para echarle la culpa. Los caballos abandonados y muriendo, los ganaderos dejan que sus vacas se mueran, los conejos aparecen muertos y ahora la masacre de los perros y gatos.

Estamos todos envueltos en esto. Pues el individualismo, el yo-ismo, el no saber trabajar para el bienestar de todos, hizo que miráramos para el lado mientras estos comportamientos iban en aumento. El hecho de que nos importe más el presente que planificar el futuro, el protagonismo:“yo” dije, denuncié, presenté lo que sucedió, tú lo dañaste, lo perjudicaste, te robaste los chavos, el poder, el bolsillo, dejan mucho que decir de una generación, sociedad y gobierno. Demás está señalar cuál es la solución para esta situación. Es clara.

El problema es la actitud que cada uno tiene hacia la vida hoy día. Cada uno de nosotros sabe lo que está pasando con Puerto Rico. Peor aún sólo estamos hablando sobre el problema cuando ocurre lo peor, para resaltar el protagonismo. Otra vez, “el que no sabe hacer las cosas de más de una manera, el que no las entiende de más de una manera, es que realmente no las ha entendido, es que realmente no las sabe hacer" (M. Minsky).

La noticia de varias muertes de niños debido a la picada de los mosquitos que transmiten el denque en Puerto Rico, nos deja mucho que pensar sobre las prioridades e intereses de los habitantes de la isla y las agencias que se deben ocupar sobre estos asuntos. Las agencias gubernamentales y la prensa despliegan la noticia como si fuera una conversación entre los ejecutivos de agencias, incluyendo el Gobernador de la isla y los reporteros. Concluyendo de estas conversaciones que los ciudadanos son responsables de la higiene y limpieza de las áreas que les rodean.

¿Es esto lo único que provoca el criadero del mosquito del dengue? ¿Es esta la única manera que hay para prevenir, evaluar y dar mantenimiento al control de la propagación del mosquito del dengue?

Hoy día las agencias pertinentes y el gobernador señalan que el mosquito del dengue se propaga todo el año. También estos nos dejaron saber que hay una campaña educativa sobre el tema para los ciudadanos. ¿Por qué la ineficiencia de esperar a que se pierdan las vidas de los niños para decirnos lo que ya sabemos otra vez?

Diariamente nuestros Senadores, Representantes y Gobernador tienen contacto con los medios de comunicación. Actualmente hay un sin número de campañas políticas y análisis noticiosos que nos dejan sordos de tanto 'ruido' que hacen. Los habitantes del país se han convertido en adictos a la noticia morbosa. Parecería que emulan a los reporteros hambrientos, buscando la controversia, la crisis, la muerte de personas, como también la muerte de la imagen de una persona, así como la muerte de un issue para crear inmediatamente otro.

Como cualquier adicto se convierte esclavo de la droga e inútil ante la demanda de su necesidad, así vive el ciudadano escuchando todo el día la Radio y la TV esperando un turno en la línea de teléfono abierto para insultar o echarle al culpa a alguien de lo que pasa en el país . Por tanto, no puede ver la necesidad de los otros, no puede ayudar a otros, no puede salir de su hoyo.

El tema del mosquito del dengue y otros más son opacados por la adicción al análisis noticioso, a la política y a la negación de actuar. Somos un pueblo inteligente y creativo, pero, nos hemos dejado dominar por los vendedores de la noticia amarillista, por los vendedores de la politiquería convirtiéndonos en consumidores de la mediocridad.

A la misma vez, estamos viviendo una era en que la creatividad ha cambiado el consumismo ofreciéndonos una variedad de alternativas en todos los mercados. ¿Cómo es posible que todavía en este país se esté manipulando al consumidor de los medios de comunicación unicamente con el análisis político 'noticioso'? ¿Que el Gobernador se exprese como si a él fuese el único ser humano en la tierra que la desgracia no le toca? Las relaciones públicas son para resolver los problemas, no para conversar vanamente sobre un tema.
